WORLD ACCLAIM FOR 6 YEAR OLD IN KARATE

A karate champion at the age of six?  Meet Nirmal V. Sebastian of Dias Villa, Thathampalli,  Alappuzha who has been awarded a First Degree Black Belt in Karate by the American-based World Martial Arts Federation.

This is the first time that an Indian has been awarded a Black Belt by the Federation.

Also, Nirmal is the youngest person in the World to have been thus awarded.

The Federation has offered to sponsor Nirmal for higher studies.  And Nirmal has plans to pursue his higher studies in US with their aid.

The World Martial Arts Federation awards Black Belt for successful performance in 25 items including use of arms.  However, Nirmal has already perfected 35 such items.

At the age of 5, when he had won the Brown Belt, the CNN and BBC had covered the event.
