MONICA: SCHOOL GIRL OF EXCEPTIONAL MEMORY

Monica, Delhi

Download Database of featured talents. (Excel file)

Ask 10-year-old Monica the names and capitals of the 189 countries of the world and she can come up with the correct answer.  Or test her with other lists and information on birds, beasts or coins.  Then also she could come up with display of memory.

But computer-like memory or encyclopedia-like general knowledge is not the only talent of this 7th standard student of a Delhi school.  Entry in Limca Book of Indian Records, environmental award from the Republic of Czechoslovakia… her achievements are varied.

She is 2nd ranked in Tennis in under 12 category in Delhi.  While studying in 3rd standard, she wrote a special exam and qualified to sit in class 4.  Similarly she gained a double promotion from class 4.  Perhaps it is because of these achievements that the M.B.A. students of a Delhi institute have formed her fan club – no mean achievement for someone her age!

Monica’s parents noticed her talent when she, as a  5-year-old,.  memorized in 3 days the details of a map given by her mother.

Her father Murali belongs to Thiruvazhiyode, Nemmara, Palakkad.  Both her parents are employed in the school where she is studying.
