ALBERT: MAN WHO HAS WALKED TO 2000 TOWNS IN INDIA

In 1976 he had walked from Thiruvananthapuram to Kolkota in 49 days – a feat that was widely reported in major newspapers of Kerala.  Similarly he had walked from Thiruvananthapuram to Goa in 39 days and to Velankanny in 12 days.

A.P.Albert, who has visited by foot about 2000 towns of India, is a man of steely resolve.

A devotee of Maria, he has visited most of the Basilicas of India by foot.  He is a good swimmer too.  With folded hands he had swam across Katinamkulam lake on 4 occasions in the presence of MLAs.

Albert’s father Angelo Pereira was employed in the church.  His mother is Mary Pereira.  He is a good actor too.  He has acted in small roles in about 30 feature films.

Besides Malayalam, he knows Hindi, Bengali, Panjabi, Tamil, Kannada and English. 

Now in his seventies, bachelor Albert is still active.  He is involved in the distribution of small general knowledge books.

A lover of children, he is fond of making them happy with his small presents.
