The expert who clears the doubts of native English speakers regarding the language sits behind the anonymity of a phone line.  The callers to Language Consultancy in England do not realize that the booming voice that clarifies their doubts belongs to a Malayali and not a native British.

Bhaskaran Nair, who has moulded students across 5 continents, is the cyber linguist that the British cannot live without.  So, although he has retired from the Lincoln University at the age of 68, the University is loath to lose the services of one of its leading cyber linguists.

Bhasskaran Nair remembers his childhood in Burma (erstwhile Myanmar).  Born at Ottappalam, Palakkad, he obtained his graduation and post graduation from Victoria College, Palakkad.  After a one-year stint at teaching at St.Albert’s College, Ernakulam, he took up a teaching job at Bombay University.

7 years later he understood the monotony of traditional teaching.  He walked in casually to attend an interview and in no time  came out with a job offer in Ethiopia.   In Africa, he met his future wife Jakaki Kutty.  It was during this time that he tried to observe the speaking style of Englishmen.  By dint of hard work he soon became a master of speaking English.

A short stint in Papua New Guinea and then he took up an offer from USA.  He obtained his doctorate from here.  Later he went around the world teaching English to students at Singapore, Australia, England etc.

Although he has officially retired from Lincoln University, the authorities have permitted him to make use of the facilities of the University till he desires.
