For 73-year-old Vijiyem Joshua, innovation is a way of life.  He had resigned the job of mechanical engineer in Railways and later terminated his stint with private companies towards that end.  And during the past 36 years, he has evolved many useful devices, 5 of which have been patented.

His 1st innovation was a 39 feet long steel fishing trolley.  The next invention was the Twin Haul Barge Carrier, useful for moving cargo across 2 adjoining ships.  Incidentally, this was his 1st patented device.  Float Operated Switch to detect failure of automobiles in advance and Infinity Valuable Switch were the next patented devices.

His innovative triangular breakwater building block won another patent.  Other notable devices developed by him include Windmill for grinding flours and Bio Methanol Plant for disposal of waste.

The latest device he has innovated is the Electro-mechanical switch which when connected to the front door, can act as a main switch for electrical supply to the house and as a burglar alarm.
