By returning the money found in his autorickshaw to the rightful owner, Praveen Kumar of Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram has demonstrated that honesty is greater than a few thousand rupees.  He traced T.S.Subrahmani Iyer of Puthentheruvu to his house and returned the Rs.30000 that Iyer had left in the auto.

A retired Research Assistant of Statistics Department, Iyer had gone to the Railway Station to book tickets for a study tour by students.  It was after reaching home by auto that Iyer realized the loss of money.  Immediately he lodged a complaint with the Fort Police Station.  However, by the time Iyer reached home after lodging the complaint, Praveen had reached Iyer’s place with the lost cash.

After dropping Iyer, Praveen had gone home for lunch, when a boy detected the money lying in the auto.  His family members advised him to return the money, which Praveen did promptly.

Iyer honoured the honesty of Praveen by cordially inviting him to his house and presenting him the traditional embroidered dhothi and shawl.  He also promised to recommend Praveen for any suitable employment.
