Go anywhere in the world and you could find Malayalis working under someone.  But come to M.K.Group of companies under the leadership of Yousafali.M.A and you could see men and women from different parts of the world working under a Malayali.

In fact the 22-employee Group, which he took over in 1982, now has a workforce of 12000, of whom 7000 are Keralites.  From his native land of Nattika alone, he has given employment to 1600.

They are employed in the Lulu Hypermarkets, a feature-rich one-stop market for consumer goods that has its operations in Gulf, Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and India.  By hardwork, sincerity and humane and secular approach, he has established rapport with the kings and ordinary men from the street.  In fact he is acceptable not only to the rulers of the Gulf but to the Government of India also.  He is more like a diplomat of India in the Gulf.

Many positions have come to him because of his honest and courageous approach.  Member of Central Wakf Board, Director of Cochin International Airport, Chairman of M.E.S. Medical College, Director of KSIDC, former board member of Air India etc are some of them.  Many awards too have come to him for the excellence of his business.  Central award for the best exporter for 1992, 1997, 1998, 2001-03 have come his way in addition to Kerala Government’s best Non Resident Keralite businessman award for 2000 and awards of Spanish and Kenyan Governments.

He involves himself in rehabilitation measures when calamities like earthquake affect India.  Yousafali had sent in a ship with medicines at the time of Gujarat Earthquake.  He considers giving employment to youth as a rewarding joy of his life.
