Her place is not amidst the women entrepreneurs of Kerala, but the captains of Kerala Industry.  Pamela Anna Mathew, Managing Director of OEN India Limited, Kochi, who by her management skills has catapulted the organization to the forefront of electromechanical component manufacturers at the national level, considers there are no special problems for women in business.  “If one tries to gather comprehensive knowledge of one’s field, difficulties can be avoided,” she says.

Her father had started the organisation in 1968.  Pamela, who joined the company in 1973, learned the basics from her father and then served as the Joint Director after his death.  Later she took up the role of leading the company by nurturing talent and making appropriate moves in tune with changing market.

It was her leadership that created ‘OEN culture’ as a model among entrepreneurs and gave the company the Best Practice Organisation citation.

However, her achievements are not limited to the company she heads.  Among business people, she is known as a good organizer who had once been the chairperson of Kerala State Chapter of Federation of Indian Industry.  She has served as the president of Cochin Chamber of Commerce, as member of the governing body of Kerala State Productivity Council and as president of Kerala Management Association.  Pamela, who has 2 postgraduate degrees and M.B.A to her credit, has traveled to many foreign countries.
