The youngest director at the international video festival to be held in Thiruvananthapuram this month end is the 10-year-old Sree Sankaran, a 4th standard student of St.Thomas Central School, Thiruvananthapuram.

Sankaran’s ‘Tortie’s Day Out’, a 3½ minute long film based on a baby tortoise had earlier won the Silver award at the animation festival held in USA last year.  It was screened at Chicago International Children’s Festival and the Animation Festival held in Italy.

Sankaran conceived the idea of the film at a camp conducted by the Toonz Animation India 2 years back.  Only the guidance and technical help were provided by the organizers.

He is the son of journalist Viju V.Nair and Karthika.
